More Information: Fourth Grade Days — Cal Poly SWE’s largest elementary outreach event of the year — will be 50 percent larger this year as more than 40 SWE volunteers crisscross the Central Coast to introduce a record number of young students to the world of engineering. Almost 1,000 fourth-grade students in 31 classrooms throughout the region will experience engineering and Learn by Doing firsthand through an engaging variety of hands-on team activities.
By presenting a variety of highly interactive, hands-on sessions and serving as role models, the SWE volunteers will share their passion for math and science and all things related to engineering. A goal of the event is to inspire girls and boys to see engineering and technology as a rewarding career path.
