Mechanical Engineering Design Expo Featured in Business Times

Products as diverse as an in-bottle wine aerator, a Spider-Man-like robot that can climb walls and a peach pit detector are among the Cal Poly mechanical engineering projects featured in the current issue of Pacific Coast Business Times. The regional business journal covered the Design Expo held Nov. 25 on campus. Cal Poly’s College of Engineering announced the establishment of the Systems Integration Engineering (SIE) program, a new online graduate program designed for working engineers aspiring to take on additional technical responsibility and leadership.
Cal Poly engineering students have conducted a successful preliminary design review of a hybrid rocket with Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company, the project sponsor.
