Cal Poly Society of Civil Engineers Wins National Award for Most Outstanding Chapter

For the second year in a row, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) deemed Cal Poly the winner of the prestigious ASCE Robert Ridgway Award, given to the most outstanding chapter out of the 280 student groups across the country.


Cal Poly Supermileage Scores 1324 mpg at the Eco Marthon in Houston

This year, at the Shell Eco Marathon Americas on March 27, Cal Poly struggled with engine adjustments, new course challenges, and a mighty gust of wind. The team was able to complete one successful run, consuming 17.8 milliliters of fuel and achieving 1324 mpg for a 10th Place finish out of 42 entries.


Alumni Shed Light on iPad Innards

After the April 2, 2010 debut of Apple's iPad, Cal Poly graduates Kyle Wiens (CSC '05) and Luke Soules (IE '06), enthusiastically tore the product apart and documented the process with commentary and photos on their company website.
