Outstanding Student Awards
Each year the College of Engineering recognizesthe hard work of our students. We recognize these students in the Spring quarter in coordination with the Project Expo. You can find a list of the awards and photos from this year's ceremony below.
College Academic Excellence
Criteria: Awarded to the highest GPA in the College of Engineering
Contributions to the Objectives & Public Image of the College
Criteria: Consider participation in departmental and college-wide clubs, committees, special projects, and to activities related to representing the college at the State or regional level through competitions or presentations. Service to the college is of greatest emphasis.
Contributions to the Objectives & Public Image of the University
Criteria: Special attention should be given to the graduating senior who has made an outstanding contribution to the University as a whole. Factors to consider would be similar to those outlined in Contributions to the Objectives & Public Image of the College above, with primary emphasis being placed on involvement in University-wide organizations, committees and projects.
Service to the Community
Criteria: Service to the off-campus community is of greatest emphasis. Factors to consider include: 1) Participation in volunteer community service and/or academically-related service in which the student has provided a degree of involvement not normally required of a senior project, internship, class project, etc. 2) The individual’s efforts to involve other students in service (e.g., through class projects, academically-related clubs, special interest clubs, etc.) 3) The amount of time contributed 4) The difficulty of the service performed 5) The impact on the off-campus community
Volunteer of the Year
Criteria: Consider the efforts of a student or students who went above and beyond to help the College of Engineering Dean's Office, Engineering Success Center, departments, etc.
Undergraduate Academic Excellence
Criteria: Top two GPA's for each program.
Graduate Academic Excellence
Criteria: The top 10% percentile for each program.
